Welcome to Catalogue 250 – March 2022. It’s still blisteringly hot here in lovely Perth with very little respite in sight. It’s the Noongar Aboriginal ‘hot’ summer (Bunuru) which will last through much of March. We can then look forward to cooler weather (Djeran). The news is chock-a-block with Vladimir Putin and his intemperate and stupid invasion of Ukraine which, like Hitler’s stupidity in 1938 by occupying the Sudentenland, will end in tears for millions. But, the bulk of us do not know the ins and outs of why Putin would invade a neighbouring and seemingly friendly country. So it will be interesting to see what transpires over the next few weeks and months. And whether NATO has the starch to do something about it. But without the US, NATO is really a hollow shell. Let’s hope the US can keep their guns holstered and not do anything rash given the wobbly nature of both Biden and Putin and itchy trigger fingers. When you are nuclear-armed a heavy responsibility bears down on you.
To business at hand—this list contains many great books which are becoming difficult to find. And they are substantially discounted to attract you, the buyer. As usual, this list is dedicated to serving and past serving servicemen who may not be traveling too well. It’s also dedicated to those who have served and have since died. Rest in Peace.
