Welcome to Catalogue #227 February 2020. This list is dedicated to our gallant fire fighters who have worked tirelessly to halt the conflagration. It’s tragic that people lose their lives to protect others. We expect that when we pack soldiers off to some war or other but our civilians should be safe in their own homes. And to see three Americans die flying a fire tanker C130 was particularly harrowing. Having spent a lot of my Army days (and nights) in Hercs I have a particular feel for what it must have been like in those last minutes. It’s a huge plane and not easy to crash. RIP men!
And so to books….Got a few gems in this list and you will notice I’ve left a few categories on the shelf this time. Someone asked me years ago ‘do I get sad when a seriously rare book is sold?’ The answer to that is NO! When we first started 28 years ago we declared that everything was for sale! Anyway, I promise not to shed a tear when the gems in this list go to new homes. It’s been fun finding them after having been missing in action for so long. Via con Dios M&J
